Interspire Step By Step Installation/Setup Using Virtulmin/cPanel

Interspire’s Email Marketer application is a versatile tool for creating email campaigns and auto-responders. Installation requires a database to be set up and for the web application files to be uploaded to the server. Email Marketer can be installed on most web servers. This article will guide you with interspire step by step installation.

Requirements

Server Operating System: Linux/Unix any variant, Windows.
Web Server: Apache, IIS or Nginx.
Scripting Language: PHP 5.1.3 or above.
Databases: Mysql 4.1.1 or above, PostgreSQL 8.2 or above.

Download and Upload Interspire Marketing Tool

If you don’t have Interspire Marketing Tool, you can download it from “Download Products” link on Interspire website client area. (this area only can be accessed if you have purchased Interspire and register yourself).

After downloading Interspire, unzip the files using any unzip utility (Winzip for Windows, unzip for Linux) and upload these files to your website directory using any FTP client.

Pre-steps of Interspire Installation

  1. Create database.
  2. Create database user and grant all privileges.
  3. File Permissions

You need to create a new database (Mysql/Postgre) and it will be used to store your data. Make sure this database has associated user before starting Interspire Installation.

Steps for creating database and User in cPanel.

Interspire Email Marketer requires the following files/directories to have ‘write’ permissions. Please verify, If the permissions are different please modify accordingly. Also, if a folder listed here doesn’t exist, please create it.

Files, CHMOD this file to 646:

• admin/includes/config.php

Note: Although it says 646, some webhosts may require 664 or 666 instead.

Folders, CHMOD these to757:

• admin/temp/

• admin/com/storage

Note: Although it says 757, some webhosts may require 775 or 777 instead.

SetUp Wizard

Setup Wizards is really a simple task as the signing up for your new account.

To start the setup process, using your favorite browser navigate to the web directory where you have installed Interspire Email Marketing suit (this is the directory where you put the files after unzip). Example: http://www.yourdomain.com (for main domain)or http://www.yourdomain.com/inertrpire (for subdomains).

A form will be appeared with the following fields:

Application Url:

This will be automatically filled, you do not need to fill this. Make sure this will be your domain name but the IP addresses.

Username:

This is the admin user name. (Mostly used Admin)

Email Address:

Enter any email address, example username@domain.com.  This is the Admin (super user) email Id, it will be automatically created.

Password & Confirm Password:

This is the password for the Admin user. Enter carefully.

Database:

Here you have two steps,

  1. Select the database accordingly, I want to use (Mysql or postgre.)
  2. Enter the database details created above in second step.

After filling up all complete form, I suggest to review all the information, and click on next/finish button.  A message will be displayed with the login name and the password. Save down this information for future login.

Congratulations, you are now ready to login to the Interspire Email Marketer control panel and start adding content! Your control panel will be accessible by adding ‘/admin’ onto the end of your website URL.
